Gold pocket watches reflect quality and pride in workmanship. During these "Space Age" times, this quality, this true value of gold pocket watches is often overlooked, especially by younger people. Gold pocket watches fitted in perfectly with this ideal; the watch of course sat in one's breast pocket and was secured to one's person by a gold chain. A man didn't have to expose his arms by pushing up his sleeve in order to tell the time, for he didn't have to look at his wrist as is the universal norm today.
